Marie "Mary" Evon Rice

Longtime Louisville, Colorado resident Marie “Mary” Evon Rice, died Monday, March 5, 2018 at her home in Louisville surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old.

She was born Marie Evon Cordova on March 4, 1933 in Ft. Collins, Colorado, the daughter of Manual and Lillian (Pino) Cordova. Marie grew up in Ft. Collins and attended High School there.

On February 9, 1957, Marie was united in marriage to Andrew James Rice at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ft. Collins. She was a resident of Louisville for 62 years.

She was a homemaker and a stay at home mom. She enjoyed camping at their cabin at Jackson Lake, and working in her flower garden. Her favorite time was spent surrounded by family and friends.

Preceding Marie in death were her parents, sister Edna Lybarger, brother George Cordova.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 62 years Andy, of their home in Louisville. Her children Andrew J. Rice of Boulder, Florence Rice and her fiancée Rudy Martinez of Louisville. Grandchildren Michelle Remijio and her husband Sal, Heather Hemlinski, and Josh Verner. Also surviving are her siblings Gloria Waterhouse, and Joe Cordova.

Memorial contributions may be mades in Marie's name to TRU Hospice of Boulder, CO.

Services

Visitation and Rosary will be Monday, March 12 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with the Rosary at 6:00 PM at Darrell Howe Mortuary in Lafayette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 13 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lafayette. A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial will be at a later day in the Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver.

Andy, So sorry for your lose. Maria was a quiet, kind and honest person. We were blessed to have known her and talk with her as she would tell us about her walks around the lake, where she was going driving the golf cart to name a few of many talks. Maria Loved all.
